🧭 Intro and Goals
We use products every day in our lives. And basically, every product has its own 'core' value. It provides why you're buying/using them.
- 🍚 Rice can satisfy your hunger
- 🚗 Car can transport you from A to B
- 🛏️ Bed as a place for you to sleep
But some products are more confusing, why are people buying these:
- 👜 Louis Vuitton bag and 📱 latest iPhone — as a bag, as for its brand or both?
- 💪 Gym membership — as to be healthier, looks prettier or finding friends?
- 🚬 Cigarette — as to relax, looks more cool, or you just like the taste?
Most consumers are often confused. We don't exactly know why we buy things. 95% of purchasing decisions are emotional.
But then here's the thing — Apple, Nike or Djarum of the world — actually study and understand why we buy things. By understanding that, they can influence our buying decisions.
- ☕ Starbucks understand people come for the cozy and coolness of the place, so they do not worry they don't have the best coffee taste in the world.
- 💻 Amazon understand that people are looking for the cheapest price and fastest delivery when shopping, so they don't worry that much about their ugly logo.
- 📱 Facebook understand that people use WhatsApp if all of their friends are already on the app, so they don't care much about other feature that Telegram may have better.
- 🏎️ Tesla was the one who figured out that people buy car also for its looks (on top of its other feature), therefore when they were started to make good looking electric cars, they hit the jackpot.

Alfamart studied a lot about of how we walk around the store.

Starbucks studied a lot how their store can be as cozy as possible, so they can call their store as 'third place (meaning the third place to go after the home and the office).

We're also have to understand our consumer, deeply.
